FALSTAFF

Orson Welles' Shakesperian Masterpiece. Regarded as one of the greatest of all filmmakers he always claimed that FALSTAFF, a.k.a. CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT, was his favorite film. Welles distilled several of Shakespeare’s plays into one exciting, moving – and sometimes hilarious -- story about the lovable drunkard Sir John Falstaff and his friendship with Prince Hal, heir to the British throne. A brilliant cast and a genius director make this an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Based on Orson Welles’s play the Five Kings which, in turn, was based on the plays Henry IV Parts I and II, Henry V, Richard II and The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare. Filmed on location in Spain.
