DAY THE SKY EXPLODED

American, British and Russian scientists collaborate on an atomic rocket in this Italian-made science fiction classic (odd that there arenít any Italian scientists in the bunch). When the launch goes horribly wrong, the earth finds itself being bombarded by deadly asteroids which, in turn, causes events usually connected with Global Warming -- animal migrations, tidal waves, typhoons, heat waves. Hey, who made this thing, Al Gore?

The film was photographed by Mario Bava, soon to become a legendary director of stylish horror films such as BLACK SUNDAY (1961) and BLACK SABBATH (1963).
